Michel Bérubé hails originally from Quebec and spends his time between Montreal and Toronto, recording and performing in French and English. He has been a featured entertainer at jazz festivals, casinos and concert halls including The Toronto Jazz festival, Casino Rama on a number of occasions and at the prestigious Town Hall in New York City and has shared the stage with Steven Paige, Louise Pitre, Amy Sky, Rita McNeil, Amanda McBroom, Jose Feliciano, Jennifer Warnes and Kenny Rogers among others.
Michel has also attracted an impressive list of artists who have collaborated on his recordings including Guido Basso, Ashley MacIsaac, Divine Brown, Kim Richardson, Jennifer Warnes and Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders.
His independent release of O Holy Night in 2004 featuring Guido Basso was added to radio stations across North America as were four tracks from his highly praised 2005 album This Christmas including his duet with Grammy and Oscar winner Jennifer Warnes, Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth. Michel's single Through Your Eyes was called "brilliant" by industry insider and Billboard editor (Canada) Larry Leblanc and Mama's Words, his original Christmas song, hit the Top Forty in only two weeks on the charts in 2009.
In May, 2013 Michel released an album of French classic favourites HYMNES À L'AMOUR to great acclaim and the full album was added immediately to the in-flight entertainment programming for Air Canada. In October 2012 Jennifer Warnes asked Michel to join her on tour to perform her hit Love Lift Us Up Where We Belong with her and in November he opened for Chantal Kreviazuk at Casino Rama.
Michel's duet with pop icon Chrissie Hynde Laisse-moi t'aimer/We'll Be Together was serviced to Quebec radio in Spring 2013 and was quickly added to over 25 radio stations. Michel is now in studio recording a new single for the Quebec market and preparing for his appearance at the Jazz Bistro in Toronto, Tuesday July 9, 2013.
